Dear Pat,

We have been made aware of your struggle to negotiate a new contract with your hard-line employers. Given the attack on dockworkers worldwide, we are not at all surprised by your world struggle there in the Port of Saint John. But be encouraged, you along with ILA Local 273 have invested in the struggles of fellow Dockers all over the world - just as
you invested in the struggle of the Charleston Five. Now, it is time for Local 273 to realize the return on those investments.

ILA Locals 1422, 1422-A, and 1771 in the Port of Charleston, South Carolina (USA) joins our brothers and sisters worldwide in pledging true solidarity with you and your membership. You were there for us and rest assure, we will be there for you. We will stand with you until a fair and equitable contract is obtained for the membership.

In Solidarity,

Kenneth Riley
