Contract Negotiations

Letters of Support

Dear Brother Riley,

We have been informed the port employees of the Port of Saint John have come under attack by the employers association in regards to recent contract negotiations regarding pay and working conditions of your members.

This seems to be a global trend as employers try to take back gains made by unionized Labour groups in the past negotiations where unions bargained in good faith and concessions were made to advance the conditions and pay scales of these employees.

Local 273 has proven itself to be an I.L.A. affiliate that has been there time and time again for others when they were needed. You should know that, Local 1657 will support your battle in anyway possible.

We ask you keep us informed of any changes in regards to your current situation.

In Solidarity, On behalf of our members

Kevin Waite
President
ILA Local 1657
Port Of Montreal
