Letters of Support

Halifax Longshoremen’s Association
Local 269 ILA
Halifax, N.S.

Mr. Pat Riley
ILA Local 273
20 Church Ave
Saint John N.B.
E2M 4P4

Dear Brother Riley,

As you are aware your Brother’s in Halifax (Local’s 269,1341& 1825) have been following your situation in New Brunswick. It surely is a sad day for the labour movement in Canada when a rogue employer, namely the Irving Group can wield so much power, that it’s possible for them to sit at a table and make demands of our Brother, I.L.A. member’s without doing any constructive bargaining.

With that being said, the Local’s in the Port of Halifax are on stand-by to assist you in your endeavour to reach a fair contract. Please do not hesitate to contact us in Halifax for any help that we may be able to give you.

Fraternally Yours,

Gerald Murphy
President, Local 269

Rick Robinson
President, Local 1341

John Campbell
President, Local 1825
