Dear Brother Riley:

We are very disappointed to learn that the employers at the Port of Saint John are insistent in taking a step backwards at the negotiating table by attacking the wages and working conditions that you have earned in previous contracts.

Through our own bargaining, we have learned that roll-backs and wage concessions are not in the best interest of the industry or for either of the parties involved. Our employers association had embarked on this type of action several years ago but had second thoughts as we all researched the results in other jurisdictions.

On behalf of the members of Local 502 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers I would extend to you our support, in whatever way it may be needed, in your struggle against the unfair demands of you employers association.

In Solidarity,

Lloyd Soble
Business Manager
IBEW, Local 502
