Contract Negotiations
Letters of Support

November 14, 2002
Dear Brother Riley,
We Are deeply concerned (but not surprised) that the port employers in Saint John, New Brunswick are about to attack the pay and conditions of the dockworkers
In I.L.A. Local 273.
As you are aware, the ILWU longshore division are experiencing great difficulty in negotiating a new contract as we find ourselves under attack by the employer and the U.S Government who are undoubtedly attempting to obstruct the collective bargaining process. It is therefore extremely important that we continue to keep each other informed of our struggles so that we can help each other when needed.
On behalf of the entire membership of the ILWU, we extend to you our support and stand with you under our banner, “An Injury to One is a Injury To All.’
In Solidarity,
James Spinosa
International President
