Dear Brother,

At the inaugural conference of MUNZ the Maritime Union of New Zealand, with 5 officers of the MUA in attendance Terry Ryan advised the meetings of your problems negotiating a new contract, with employers attempting to downgrade your conditions.

MUNZ, a new union which incorporates the New Zealand Seafarers, the Waterfront Workers Union, and the Store and Warehouse Union. Voted unanimously at its conference to support Local 273 in its struggles against the employers for fairness and justice, and extended our solidarity and support in your endeavours.
